            Worked on size 8 needles with Wintuk yarn

            Back:               

                        Cast on 17 stitches

                        Work 10 rows stockinette stitch

                        Row 11: knit 1, knit 2 together, knit 11, knit 2 together, knit 1

                        Row 12: purl 4, bind off 7, purl 4

Slip left 4 stitches onto a holder. With right 4 stitches, (side that still has the yarn attached) work 6 rows stockinette stitch, starting with a knit row. Bind off.

Re-attach yarn to the left side and work six rows stockinette stitch. Bind off.

            Right Side:

                        Cast on 7 stitches

                        Work 11 rows stockinette stitch

                        Row 12: purl 4, purl 2 together, purl 1

                        Row 13: knit 4, cast off 2

Re-attach yarn to 4 remaining stitches and work 5 rows stockinette stitch, starting with a purl row.

                        Bind off

            Left Side:

                        Cast on 7 stitches

                        Work 11 rows stockinette stitch

                        Row 12: purl 1, purl 2 together, purl 4

                        Row 13: Cast off 2, knit 4

                        Work 5 rows with 4 remaining stitches, starting with a purl row.

            Skirt:

                        Cast on 54 stitches

                        Row 1 – knit

                        Row 2 – knit 2, *yarn over, knit 2 together, repeat from * across

                        Row 3-5 – knit

Row 6: *knit 2 together three times, yarn over knit one 3 times repeat from * last three stitches, ending knit 2 together, knit 1

After working these six rows, repeat rows 1-3. DO NOT BIND OFF. Cut a long tail and thread through live stitches to make a gathered skirt.

Finishing: Sew side seams approximately 1 inch up from the bottom. Sew gathered skirt onto the bottom of the “vest” part. Sew shoulder seams. Sew on 2-3 small snaps for closing. Take picture.
