Back:
Cast on 23 stitches
Knit 3 rows
Work 11 rows stockinette stitch, starting with a purl row
Row 12: knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to last 3 stitches, knit 2 together, knit1.
Row 13: Purl
Row 14: Knit 4, cast off 13, knit 4
Slip last 4 stitches on a holder
With first 4 stitches, work 6 rows stockinette stitch
Bind off
Reattach yarn to last 4 stitches and work 6 rows stockinette stitch
Bind off
Right side:
Cast on 7 stitches
Knit 3 rows
Work 11 rows stockinette stitch
Row 12: Knit 5, knit 2 together
Row 13: purl
Row 14: knit 4, cast off 2
Reattach yarn and work 5 rows stockinette stitch with remaining 4 stitches, starting with a purl row
Bind off
Left side:
Cast on 7 stitches
Knit 3 rows
Work 11 rows stockinette stitch
Row 12: knit 2 together, knit 5
Row 13: Purl
Row 14: cast off 2, knit 4
Work 5 rows stockinette stitch with remaining 4 stitches, starting with a purl row
Bind off
Sleeves (make 2):
Loosely cast on 24 stitches
Work 5 rows in garter stitch
Bind off
Finishing: Sew side seams about 1 ¼ inches up from the bottom. Sew on sleeves, but pin them in place beforehand to make sure they turn right side out properly. Sew on 3 snaps for closure. Cut out a felt number and team emblem and sew them onto the finished jersey.
